Frequently Asked Questions

What is Learn Nritya?

Learn Nritya is an online platform dedicated to teaching Indian classical dance through guided, self-paced video courses. Students can learn anytime, anywhere, while following a structured curriculum rooted in traditional training.

Which dance forms are currently available?

We currently offer Kathak courses, designed from beginner to intermediate levels. Bharatanatyam is coming soon, with more classical dance forms planned for the future.

Who can enroll in the courses?

Anyone with an interest in classical dance can enroll. Our courses are suitable for beginners, returning dancers, and those looking to strengthen their foundation — no prior experience is required.

Are the courses live or recorded?

All courses are pre-recorded and self-paced, allowing you to learn at your convenience while maintaining a structured learning path.

How long does it take to complete a level?

Each level can be completed at your own pace. On average, learners take 4–8 weeks per level, depending on practice frequency and personal goals.

Will I receive a certificate after completing a course?

Yes. Upon successful completion of each level, students are eligible for an academy-recognized certificate. Government-recognized certification options are also available for select programs.

Can I learn classical dance without a teacher in person?

Yes. Our courses are carefully structured to simulate traditional training through detailed demonstrations, practice guidance, and progression-based learning — making self-paced learning effective and authentic.

Do I need any special equipment or space?

You only need a small practice space, a stable internet connection, and a device to watch the lessons. Ghungroo are recommended for Kathak at later stages but are not required for beginners.

Can I access the courses on mobile or tablet?

Yes. Learn Nritya is fully accessible on mobile phones, tablets, and desktop devices.

Is Learn Nritya suitable for children?

Yes. Our courses are suitable for children, teenagers, and adults. Parents are encouraged to guide younger learners during practice.

Can I teach after completing the course?

Teaching eligibility depends on completing advanced levels and meeting certification requirements. Completing beginner or intermediate levels alone does not qualify one to teach.
